Finally...alhamdulillah..

Assalamu'alaikum Wr Wb.



Alhamdulillah, after months of preparation and planning, our first ever outdoor activity was carried out. On Thursday, 25th June 2009, the "Al-Qur'an Discovery Race" was a success at the end of the day despite the few errors and faults. As they say, 'it's always the end-state that counts....' And based on the satisfication felt, I would have agree with whoever said that..





Well here we are, a blow-by-blow account of the happenings on that blessed day...,



0700 hrs:: (almost) All of our beloved committee members were punctual or a few minutes behind time in arriving at our meeting point; Pasir Ris Bus Interchange. After the arrival of a few more members, most of us departed to the location which was Pasir Ris Park. Meanwhile, the emcees (myself and fattah), asministrator (hidia), as well as our treasurer (izzah) accompanied by Ustaz Abdul Salam and Ustzh Sa'odah awaited the arrival of our participants.





0800 hrs:: Slowly, the participans arrived. Although the total number left us albeit disheartened, we forced ourselves to put on a brave smile for the sake of our beloved club members. =)





0915 hrs:: After making sure that no one else was coming, we departed for PRP with only 12 participants in tow. Personally, I was on the verge of tears. ='(





0945 hrs:: Settling down was not much o a hustle due to our small group. So we quickly began our "ta'ruf" session which was basically our nickames, and facts that we felt unimportant to share..(last-minue improvising)



Well, we discovered that 'Izzul Iman aka Bob likes to drink coke, Harun (or maybe it was Musa) likes to don hats, their younger sibling Zahid, dislikes hats and our very own fattah deems everything in his life important and thus had nothng to share..(lol)



We then proceeded to play our ice-breaking game which was 'dog-and-bone'. Suprisingly the gents appeared never to have played the game and so we enjoyed ourselves watching their hilarious antics. (lol) The girls were equally entertaing and I'm sure that all of us enjoyed the game.



1030 hrs:: We went for a break after the game. At first we had nothing to drink because our most beloved logistics member came late. Then Ust Salam came to the rescue by purchasing a whole carton of mineral water which was in turn, transformed to fruit punch by our f&b with the help of Ustzh Sa'odah. Most of us, participants and committee members were grumbling about our empty stomachs. Well, there wasn't breakfast in the programme so only biscuits were provided.

In the end Ust Salam came to the rescue AGAIN by ordering 2 sets of large 'Meatlovers' pizza from Canadian Pizza with the help of Fattah. After a slice each, I'm quite sure we were content.



around 1330 hrs:: (yeah..it was a loooonngg break...) We finally prepared ourselves for the main activity which was our discovery race. Both boys and girls were divided into groups of 2 for the activity. A short while after, the race started................................







1600 hrs:: End of race. And preparation for our Zohor prayers which was followed by a meaningful tazkirah delivered by Ust Salam. That was shortly followed by Asar Prayers and finally, lunch!!



1700 hrs:: We gathered at the outcropping of rocks by the beach and answered some final questions before the results were tallied. In the end, the best group prize went to the Red group: Muhammad Ahmad Dahlan, Musa Omar & Zahid Omar. The award for best participant went to Amirah Syafiqah Latasa. Congratulations guys!





1745 hrs:: After our prize presentation, we took pictures on the outcropping for memories sake and will soon be posted on our board.



On my part, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude towards everyone from our respected teachers to my beloved committee and participants for giving their best on that day..May all your efforts be worthwhile..=)
